Final Post

What a year!  We only have one full day of school left in grade one, which still surprises me.  I've had such a wonderful time with the class exploring, creating, problem solving and laughing through the whole process.  Thank you to all the parents for your support and understanding this year, it has been greatly appreciated!  Hopefully next year, we will again be able to have parents in the school to join us for volunteering opportunities.  All the best for a wonderful summer break and we will see you in September!

This past week's learning - yes we were still trying to finish up a few projects.

We learned the rules to 4 square and enjoyed playing it over several days.  Students have gotten the hang of serving and passing the ball and accepting when they are out of the game. Fortunately there wasn't a long wait to get back into the game, as the groups were only 5 or 6 students.

We finished our final building project.  We were making a model, of a piece of playground equiptment using found items.  Students planned out their creations, looked at and then gathered their materials and then finally presevered through the building process.

Students sketched a summer tree after looking back on their September summer tree sketch.  What a difference between the two trees.  They look beautiful!  Students also sketched a self portrait again and enjoyed looking back on their first one from September.  There were lots of giggles and laughter heard during the process.

I have lots of fun things planned for Monday, which is a full day at school.  See you then!
