March 22-26

This week has been a busy week of learning.  We have finished up our exploration of 2D shapes and 3D objects.  Students created 3D objects with polydrons and reviewed our understanding of pyramids and prisms.

We shared our STOMP routines on a Tuscany Together Google Meeting that included a variety of classes.  Our routine was a lot of fun.  Ask me to share with you our routine.  Can you do it with me too?

Students continued to explore rights and responsibilities that are experienced at home, at school and in nature.  We now understand that a right is something we have and a responsibility is something we do.

Students sketched again for art this week.  The focus was on an owl and they turned out beautifully!

Here is a photo of our mixing art from last week.

We finished up our basketball unit.  Students had a lot of fun dribbling, throwing and catching the ball against the wall and shooting some hoops.  Students preserved while improving their skills, specifically with being able to keep the ball in control throughout the gym space.

Students have continued to explore long and short vowel sounds and are recognizing the magic e which jumps over the consonant and tells the vowel to say it’s name.  We have also seen some different combinations of vowels that make the long vowel sound.  We learned the rule: When two vowels go walking the first one does the talking and says its name. Some examples of this are: green, sea, hair, coat, clean, rain, and peach.

Please remind your child not to bring stuffed animals to school as we are trying to follow the COVID 19 protocols and keep everyone safe while learning at school.  We hope that everyone stays safe over the spring break and remembers that we return to school on Tuesday April 6th.
